Facts For Clayton County Parents
- Clayton County High School students who graduate while accreditation is not in place may or may not be grandfathered-in when the school re-obtains accreditation; it is not known at this time. In the current environment, it is entirely possible for a student to reach the end of the year and his/her classes not be accredited. Ashworth provides a regionally and nationally accredited high school program through SACS and DETC. There is no risk of your Ashworth diploma not being recognized.
- Credits earned from a non-accredited program may not be accepted by local area high schools for transfer. Credits earned at Ashworth are eligible for transfer.
- Students from other schools without accreditation might not be eligible for the Hope Scholarship program or other NCAA recognized scholarships. Ashworth graduates are eligible for the Hope Scholarship Program and other scholarships.
- Ashworth offers a home study program, so parents don't have to rearrange schedules to drive to a new school. A support program for parents is also available so that they have the tools to support their child's studies.
- Ashworth's self-paced courses allow students to make up for lost time or graduate early because students are not forced into a traditional schedule.

What is Distance Education?
Distance education gives parents greater control of the learning environment. It's centered in the home so it accommodates your child's specific needs. Without the pressures of classmate competition, pop quizzes and project deadlines, your child is free to study at a pace that suits his or her own ability. Ashworth helps students succeed by providing a high quality curriculum, grading/feedback, tutoring support and interactive community. - Correspondence: Students receive text books and they can contact the tutors for tutoring help, grading questions, etc. Students can take multiple choice exams online and hand graded assignments are submitted to the school for grading.
How do I transfer to Ashworth High School?
- An official transcript from your current high school is required. We can assist the student if they need help obtaining the transcript.
- We accept full academic credits earned and issue transfer credits based on rules and procedures set forth by SACS.
- A customized program of study is tailored for each individual student based on credits earned and transferred.
What if I need to transfer from Ashworth High School?
- Ashworth High School is accredited and meets SACS standards. This means that courses completed at Ashworth should be accepted by other accredited schools.
- To receive a transcript from Ashworth, you will need to have met all financial requirements.
How do I communicate with Ashworth High School? When I am enrolled, who will help me?
Students have the option to communicate via Email and online chat. Also, students can call the school and speak with Education Services M –TH 9-10, F 9-8, SA 9-5. Online students can email anytime and instant message online teachers during posted office hours.

- Correspondence textbooks and materials are included in the tuition.
- Payment options: Ashworth accepts checks and credit cards. Students can pay in full or a low monthly payment.
- If students pay monthly, they will receive one course at a time but work at their own pace.

What happens when I graduate?
- Graduates receive their diploma and the Ashworth High School class ring.
- Graduates will be invited to attend their graduation ceremony, typically held each year in August.
